Join Me at the Wyck Historic House in Germantown for Summer Storytelling “Behind the Fence,” July 13 2013!


The ‘Behind the Fence’ Festival Series begins Saturday, July 13, 2013, 10-4pm

Wyck’s festivals welcome the Germantown community as well as the greater Philadelphia area to visit Wyck to learn and experience the many wonderful things that make this site such a unique and important community space.  Wyck welcomes visitors ‘behind the fence’ this year to share in its beautiful verdant grounds and to visit with a fantastic group of like-minded vendors, presenters, artists, musicians, and local businesses.
The festival is from 10am-4pm and the theme for this Saturday is Summertime Storytelling.
Activities from 10am-12pm are geared towards our youngest audience members
Activities from 11am-4pm are family programming for audiences of all ages!
Live Music:
Germantown Reggae Band, Fulljoy Band (12-4pm)
Food:
Mini-Trini, local food truck, recently opened Calypso on Germantown Ave. in Mt. Airy (11am-4pm)
Rose Petals Café & Lounge, opening in late July in Germantown on Chelten Ave.
Capogiro Gelato: Featuring ‘Old Wyck Rose’ Gelato made fresh from out historic Wyck Roses
Workshops:
Settlement Music School: Storytelling with Music (10am-12pm)
Ten Thousand Villages: Block Printing activity and education
Collecting Heirloom Seeds: Wyck on the farm
Propagating Roses: Wyck in the garden
Storybook Making, Story time and Activity: Wycked Fun!
Art:
Social Change Photographer, Tieshka Smith, highlighting her new photo exhibit ‘The Other Germantown,’ opening at iMPeRFeCT Gallery, 5601 Greene St on the evening of 7/13 (6-9pm).  s well as Friends of Vernon Park, Germantown Artists Roundtable, YES! And…Collaborative Arts, and more!
This should be a great day so tell your friends to bring a blanket, grab some food, and enjoy the live music, great vendors, and the beautiful 2.5 acres Verdant grounds we call Wyck!
